Occupy Sydney activists continue to plan and build tomorrow’s family-friendly rally while condemning the extreme police violence in Melbourne. This Saturday’s rally in Martin Place is expected to be at least twice the size of last week’s and will provide a new wave of occupiers and supporters.
Our occupation has been nothing but peaceful and positive. Tomorrow we will be welcoming thousands of people into Martin Place from all walks of life to celebrate the first week of continual occupation and to look to the future, stated Occupy Sydney occupier Wenny Theresia
We condemn the police’s use of tasers, horses and brute force on people protesting in a non-violent way. It is absolutely shameful that a peaceful protest, with such a positive and popular message, has led to this police brutality.

Solidarity message to Occupy Melbourne from Occupy Sydney:
Occupy Sydney supports unconditionally Occupy Melbourne’s right to demonstrate for a better future. We call on the police to respect the rights of the 99% before pandering to corporate interests. The global occupation movement will not end until a just and compassionate world without corruption is realised. Solidarity! Strength!
