Today Occupy Sydney joined Perth, Melbourne and London in solidarity actions to protest Serco’s increased grasp on public services.
Serco is a British company who now hold contracts for detention centres, prisons and are vying to take over Sydney Ferries, which would mean yet another government arm becomes privatised.
Occupy Sydney held protests at Chris Bowen’s Fairfield offices, Villawood detention centre, Serco’s office in North Sydney and finally an autonomous group occupied a Sydney Ferry dropping banners from the side which read ‘Smash Serco Scum’ , ‘Throw Serco Overboard’ and ‘Fire Serco’

One Response to “Occupy Sydney Occupies Serco”
as someone who actually works at ferries and is directly affected by the franchising process, I must say your indignation was misplaced at ferries. hanging banners off a ferry is also a huge safety issue with navigation.
