Julian Assange has lost his Appeal against the UK Supreme Court Today (30th May 2012) This means he could be extradited to Sweden within ten days and from there could be immediately flown to the United States under a process called “Temporary Surrender” to face trumped up charges of espionage.
Assange’s Lawyers has 14 days to file an Appeal.
A Worldwide Protest against the whole questionable process has been been called and the Sydney Protest will be at the
Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade

The testimony of the two women actually describes some pretty heinous behaviour by Assange, which was echoed by his actual lawyer, including initiation of sex when one women was half-asleep, and holding down a woman’s arms and trying to force her legs open for sex despite her concerns about wearing a condom.. Wish people would stop with the cult of Assange and focus more on the use of this extradition law and what it may mean for people. WikiLeaks as an organisation needs to be supported for the ethical and moral principles behind it, instead of this ‘personality cult’ around the ‘Editor in Chief’. Could this be changed to ‘support Wikileaks’ and talk more about that?
M,on how you have described alleged actions of Assange they certainly require investigation as to whether sexual assault,etc, charges should be laid.But M,no charges have been laid.Extradition is understandable against a person CHARGED with criminal behaviour,in this instance,Assange has no charges against him.He is wanted for questioning only,something that could have been done while he resided in England.If Swedish authorities then charged him,fine,place an arrest warrant out etc.Somehow this reeks of CIA and a corrupt political process.Read how the FBI in America is using agents provocateur to use entrapment against Occupy protesters.http://occupywallst.org/forum/inside-fbi-entrapment-strategy/
I really don’t care much about Assange, his own lawyers have admitted that the testimony of the women is correct, and that testimony reads as sexual assault. As I stated above, I am concerned about the use of these extradition laws in this way and what it may mean for others, but I am very much against the use of Assange as some sort of martyr/journalist hero/figurehead when I believe he is someone who assaults women. Even Wikileaks own twitter promotes a book that tries to implicate Women and Sweden in some puritant ‘rape laws’ ‘honey trap’ conspiracy. It is disgusting. I support Wikileaks, I do not support Assange.

Hi Liam, as someone who has met and spoken to you many times at OS I am very offended at your ‘get the facts’ rhetoric, and your suggestion I am believing the ‘mainstream media’.
I am WELL AWARE of the ‘facts’ and ‘lies’ including the facts of the official police statements of the three people involved which Assange’s lawyers even agreed were true. I also know its a FACT that Wikileaks is promoting a really sexist book regarding ‘rape laws and sex’ in Sweden, and also Wikileaks does not at all deter sexist and degrading conversations by their supporters about the women involved.
As I mention, AGAIN, I support Wikileaks, I do not support Assange and it makes me very uncomfortable to keep hearing hero worshiping of this man. Less hero worship, more talk and facts on the use of extradition laws.
