OCCUPY SYDNEY MEDIA
We’re on the ground making video media, liaising with the press, updating the website and generally spreading the word about what’s happening through social media.
Goals:
- To accurately release any official communication from the Sydney General Assembly.
- To help amplify the individual voices of the people.
We’re also looking to do daily reports to the Global Revolution livestream, as well as get our own livestream channel up as soon as possible. We’ll keep you updated about that as things develop.

Camera operators, editors, producers, writers, social media experts, press liaisons, photographers : unite!
We are seeking more crew!
- We could do with a few people to represent the media team on twitter and fb in shifts 24/7.
- More camera crew and editors who can shoot and edit on site. You can be a part time occupier or simply an occupation visitor!
- An offsite editor to make cutdowns of the best footage from each day and then upload so we can send a link to the media.
- We want to make a photoblog and need someone to manage this new arm of OSM.

We also encourage everyone attending to bring recording devices and make their own media to share with the world. Send us links to where your stuff is hosted and we’ll do our best to feature it.
For a while we were saying we wanted best 3 images emailed, but this is too labour intensive for our small crew. Please upload your images to an image server like flikr or photobucket and send us LINKS ONLY!
That way we can add your images to the website instantly, without download from email, re-upload to a server then embed image.

We’ll be bringing heaps of our own gear, however we’re also accepting support from the community.
WE URGENTLY NEED A SPARE LAPTOP TO KEEP ONSITE
- Telstra 4G Action! – (will allow us to run our livestream channel 24/7)
- Hard Drives (we need the kind that are powered through USB or Firewire)
- Spare SD&CF cards for our cameras
- Spare Camera Batteries. (Canon LP-E8 for 550D/600D)
- a UPS to keep our gear safe.
- 4gb+ USB Stcks
- Camera Gear
- Spare Laptop for data transfer
- Two way radios
We’ll also accept money and will post stills of any receipts for expenses in the interest of transparency.
Also, if you like what we do, feel free to order us some healthy food and have it delivered to us, or even cook something amazing and deliver it in person!

GDay All, I support your efforts on the protest against globalisation, corporate greed and obscene renumeration being received by so few in the world compared to the needs of the many that go largely unfulfilled.
So people will protest to raise awareness but what are the alternatives that are being offered? I have read a lot about the protests and today at lunchtime visited the Martin Place Sydney site but cannot see anywhere what the alternatives being suggested are. Can you please put more information in this regard on the
website(s).
I am appalled to think that the police tried to move the protesters camp. I am sure that it’s not through the choice of individual officers but they are being ordered to do so by politicans, etc. who in turn are yapping for their masters – the corporate greedsters!
I have spent the last 30 years working for the large financial institutions and have often been sickened by the money they earn and the way the sprend it. I have a family of 5 to support so am caught in the grind of the machine. I would love to break it but we need sustainable alternatives to explore. I’m not smart enough to offer any solutions but encourage everyone to investigate and keep questioning why things are the way they are and how they may be changed. Power to the pople!

Environmentalist – If your posting was in reply to my question I don’t see your point. I am not part of the 1% and I don’t believe I am stupid. Sure I may be ignorant but not stupid, there is a difference. To overcome my ignorance I have asked a simple question but as yet have not received an answer. Oh, and by the way, no one cares about your arrogance. Perhaps you should consider an attitude adjustment if you want to win more people over to the cause.
